The current article is from me and it introduces some of the important factors around self esteem in adoption. It marks the launch of an ebook that I’ve written with Naomi Richards, the Kid’s Coach, on self esteem and ways to boost it in adoption.
Boosting Self Esteem in Adoption is free to download during National Adoption Week and will be available on AdoptResources website and blog and on the Kid’s Coach website (from the 8th November, it will increase to £2.50 per download, so grab your copy now!!).
Naomi works directly with children to tackle issues like self esteem, bullying, school issues and sibling rivalry. Naomi’s enthusiasm for what she does is infectious, after all our chats I come off the phone with a big grin on my face!! We met on twitter and then in person at the Cybermummy conference in July this year. I’ve loved working with Naomi to create this ebook and am really excited about the potential for new joint projects that will help families deal with different aspects of adoption.

A word from Naomi @thekidscoach
“Celebrating National Adoption Week With An Adoption E-book
This is not my usual blog post. I am using the blog today to launch an e-book that I am really proud of writing with someone I met through twitter @AdoptResources. We started following each other and then chatting and we realised that if we brought our knowledge together we could write some material that would be of great benefit to families who have adopted. Realising that self-esteem issues are quite significant when a child moves into a new family setting we thought it necessary to write an e-book on 'Boosting Self-Esteem in Adoption'. Any child who has been adopted can have low self-esteem however it can be harder to address since that child has an additional layer of issues to overcome.”
Have a look at Naomi’s website www.thekidscoach.org.uk for some great blog posts and resources…
